>I am almost afraid to ask this question but does anyone have any idea of how VFP will run under Win2000?
There will be no problems. On the contrary- Win2000 will open a lot of doors for us as soon as VFP catches up with the COM+ spec.
>I wonder if Win2000 will really happen. I hear that it is already 2 years behind schedule.
As are all products of that size. Win2000 Beta 3 is out and is said to be 'feature complete'. Sonce many people are getting antsy though, there is now talk of an intermediate release sans Active Directory. An intermediate release would further delay the final product, but at least would give people a chance to get used to a lot of the features.
The Active Directory will definitely be the biggest change, though- it will pretty much mean throwing everything you know about the NT security model out the window.
>Linux?
Sure, if you want. But I think you
will have trouble getting VFP apps to run correctly under linux. :-)
