>APA? A...Pale Ale? Did you mean IPA (India Pale Ale)?

American Pale Ale - highly hopped like an IPA but with more aromatic hops, typically Cascade. Siera Nevada Pale Ale and Anchor Liberty Ale are two of the best examples.

I've only recently gotten the 5 gal. kegs and a refrigerator with a tap through the door. Prep is much quicker, clean the keg, rack in the beer -- life is good. Although the beer doesn't last as long ;)

>Only did single-stage fermenting until the past two batches. I had been very happy with the results of every single-stage batch (about 8 of them). Then a brewing supplier, whom I told I didn't do two-stage fermenting, looked at me as if I had told a VFP friend I was switching to Access for more power. :) My first two-stage batch was a disaster. I guess I forgot "if it ain't broke..." But I've stayed with two stage through another batch and I'm getting better.

I have only done two stage, the results have been excellent. I now do two batches at a time, one all grain in the backyard with propane and one extract in the kitchen while the longer steps of the all grain process are going on. So far I'm using single infusion mash for the grain.
