you to apologize! I know this forum has users from all over the world. It's my responsibility to see that nothing I say is ambiguous or offensive, to the best of my knowledge of the other cultures and languages.
In the case of making a joke that sounded disrespectful, I should have put some international symbol like :) to make sure it was understood that I meant no real disrespect.
