OK, I understand what you mean. And there is no such thing, right. I have something that might be in the line of what you're researching. I've added a "Find" feature to most of my maintenance forms. Whenever the user presses CTRL+F (à la Word), they are presented a dialog in which they can type in the text they are searching. Then "locater" searches for the first occurence of the research string and stops at this record. You can do a "search again" too.
My implementation is based on a original idea by Lisa Slater.
