I am sorry, John, I was answering your question without reading it carefully, so I gave you the wrong answer.

You cannot do what you are trying to do... that is, the control's picture property will only be evaluated once: when you set it.

What you want can be accomplished with the Column's dynamicCurrentControl property like Don showed you. The trick is to put 2 controls in the column, one with each picture, and the use the column's dynamiccurrentcontrol to toggle between the controls. Don's code example should work fine.
