Presumably, they don't carry over. If the resulting product was tested, the parts of VC++5 that are buggy were not used. I don't think you grasp the degree of independence between the language that wrote the compiler and the language that is compiled. One could write a C++ compiler in VFP, VB, QBasic, Perl,
Forth, Lisp, etc. There is not necessarily any vestige of the program that wrote the compiler left in the language that is compiled. If you are interested in this subject, here is a good place to start Writing Complers and Interpreters.
