First how to fix it, ACTIVATE MENU _msysmenu NOWAIT.

Now why it happens. VFP refreshes the menu periodically not continuously. Thus if your skip for changes the menu will refresh the next time VFP refreshes it or when you click on it (forcing a refresh). The trick above forces a menu refresh.
