This may be wide of the mark, but have you had a look at the size of your associated database.
During development database containers tend to grooooow.
Use the PACK DATABASE command to fix that problem
On my first project with VFP the DBC had grown to about 4 meg ,because I had not discovered the referenced command.
After packing it came down to 160K and loaded a lot faster.
