I don't pretend to know anything about MS's plans for the Mac (or about the Mac itself, for that matter (s)), my previous thoughts were only speculation....

I do know there is a lot of hesitation out "there" in investing anything into the Mac. No company can take the kind of losses Apple has and still keep going for very long. Maybe this new Steve Jobs thing will save them, but I dunno....

I'm not planning on porting hardware anytime soon (s). Nor does my company plan on doing any Mac stuff (even if we had someone who knew anything about 'em, that is (s)). I would like to see that Mac stick around, even if it is only for the never ending arguments about who is better....(g)

Again, purely IMHO and speculation.
