>Anyone know some good resources to learn how to hook VFP to the web? I know WW has a tool for it, but I'm not looking for something to make it easier. I'm trying to learn how to do it. I've found some ASP pages, but if they do databases, it's Access.
Michelle, Web Connection makes it easier to get started, but if you want
to learn about how the Web works and want to get down to the raw basics
Web Connection will certainly let you do that. WWWC includes many abstractions
but also has the low level stuff. You can also do scripting like ASP
using Visual FoxPro code instead of VBScript/JavaScript.
If you are using ASP and found samples with Access, there's really no differnece
as far as the code's concerned. ASP uses ODBC/OleDb to access a database
and whether the data backend is Access or VFP is pretty much irrevalent for
most SQL syntax.
I seem to be plugging myself a lot today, so I might as well go on. My
forthcoming book has a very large chapter on Active Server Pages for both direct data access and COM integration with Visual FoxPro. You can find out
