I'm sorry I can't say what's causing your problem. What I can say is that I have run many FPD 2.0, 2.5 and 2.6 apps, and one FPW 2.6 app, on my NT 4.0 workstation with no problems like what you're seeing. I suspect a video problem, but since I haven't seen your problem, I can't say for sure.
