>I am very new to uml and am wanting to get better design/documentation on projects and have a few questions:
>Is VisualModeler a good design tool? How well does it tie to FP? What are it's strengths and weeknesses? Is there a tool that integrates real well with FP?
>I have used PowerSoft's DataArchitect for database design in the past, but the last I checked it did not offer much functionality with FP. Anyone know of tools that would be able to help cover both the uml type design and the database development AND work good with FP? (Is that a tall order?)
>Thanks
Visual Modeler is nice, but for real modeling, I recommend Rational Rose. Rose is the Modelers big brother. Both tools are compatible. You can use the Visual FoxPro Modeling Wizards with Rational Rose and Visual Modeler.
Again, I'll have to point somebody to my book... :) (here comes the sales-pitch... :) ). One out of three parts of my book concentrates on Modeling and design. You can check it out at
