I have tracked down a bug in our system to a problem with varread().

It appears that if from the valid of a text object I do a browse, to present a list of valid values, when control returns to the original screen, if the valid returns .f.... varread() is returning the name of the column in the browse.

It seems if I tab to another field varread() is updated properly.

Is there any way to force varread() to get updated? I have tried activate window
show gets
_curobj = _curobj

Or, is there another way to get the field name bound to an object. SYS(18) also returns to same value varread() is returning.
