Some versions of ODBC return 12/30/1899 and others return 01/01/1900. You might need an updated ODBC version but that won't fix the problem you are having. I don't use remote views so I can't help a whole lot. The 12/30/1899 or 01/01/1900 is a blank date in SQL Server and you have to do some sort of preprocessing to change the value.
