>What I don't get is what they lose? Sure if they spend millions of dollars just to convert VB people to VFP people they lose some money. But there's many ways they could push VFP with little or no money. They're not losing customers if VB people go to VFP. And they may gain some in the process.

Big picture, I think they do lose. They need the huge, unwashed masses of VB developers (lol) to support their strategic direction of making VB Script a strong HTML script language and VBA a standard for macro and automation languages in Office and Office-compliant products.
