I think I might have a clue about how to do this - in fact, the trivial way is to use RAT() rather than AT(), and make sure that a value other than 0 comes back. You need to trap the 0 value obviously for file extensions, and to make certain that you get the full file name.

As George pointed out, all this foolishness is unnecessary under VFP6, where the necessary FoxTools extensions to the language have been incorporated, and work correctly on LFNs with multiple '.'s in them.
