I have just pass the desktop exam (70-176). To prepare, I have read (like I did for VB4 and VB5) the Programmer's guide. I have also done the Mastering VB desktop which is the material for one of the official course (MOC 1013).

If you have a good experience of VB5, reading a lot (more than just the programmer's guide) about ADO and the Package and Deployment wizard should be enough.

Ensure to know classes (and there use and implementation) very well.
