Co-location of a server typically runs around $250-400 a month. This is what I
do with my server, and I think that's the best route to go next to an inhouse
Internet connection.

Even if I were running ASP or other tool I would think seriously about
co-location of my own box. There are just too many things that can go
wrong with *other* people's code that can hang and stick the server that
I wouldn't trust serious applications to a co-hosted site.

>>Hello John, I am curious about the cost of implementing with Rick's Web Connection. You can't just thow this out on a virtually hosted site can you? It seems like you have to own the server and at minimum co-locate with an ISP. Am I understanding this correctly? So I guess my question is, what are the perfromance gains compared to the costs?

I have a Motorola ISDN Bitsurfer Pro that I bought reconditioned for a little over $100 and will be moving to a Pipeline Ascend soon.
