You may want the When to
return ! this.ReadOnly I don't know if you are toggling ReadOnly. The Enabled=.f. visual effect is to give the user a clear indication of the difference between controls that can be edited and those that can't. If you alter the Disabled* colors you may be able to find a more suitable appearance.
