>>I'm running the beta version of Netscape 4.5 and IE4 under both win98 and winNT. (both using the same connection to the same ISP under Win98.) When I originally created the dialup connection under win98, it installed NetBEUI, IPX/SPX, and TCP/IP as acceptable server types. I had to remove all but TCP/IP before Netscape would behave correctly.
I'm curious, have you tried setting your DNS entry settings manually (preferably in the Dial-Up settings)? If so, try also entering them in your Dial-up adapter's settings (Control Panel -> Network -> Installed network components). Also, I am curious to know what exactly the error you are getting is. Something like "could not locate the site"?
I use Netscape and Ie 4.01SP1 (Win98) at the office with a direct lan connection, as well as NT Wks 4.0 SP4 with ie4.01 SP1 and Netscape at home without a problem.
