The subject of snippage, and of including your reply at the top or the bottom of an un-snipped message, was itself the subject of a thread several months ago. If people snip, less bandwidth is used for the messages, but if they don't snip, you don't have to open all the messages to read all the text (which is good if the net is slow). We reached no consensus.
