Thanks for the suggestion.

I found out that Lotus Notes had problems with ODBC & null values with the version I am running (4.5.3a). These problems have been fixed in Notes 4.5.4 & 4.6.1. I had 4.5.4 on the shelf, upgraded, ran my import again, & my bad data is gone! :)
