>A development partner from another state sent me his version of the VFP application that we are co-authoring. I installed the entire development subdir in the same path as it exists on his machine and I tried to compile it. I receive the Unable to find Visual Class Library -- Locate-ignore-cancel dialog box, but it does not provide the name of the file it is looking for. The project error file contains the following message:
>
>Visual Class Library c:\program files\microsoft visual studio\vfp98\ffc\_utility.vcx has the following errors:
> Visual Class Library - Undefined
>
>We are both using VFP 6.0 (Unpatched), although he is using the Visual Studio version and I have VFP 6.0 Professional. I have tried a number of things to resolve the problem, including rebuilding the project from scratch, reinstalling VFP, and removing project components until the error went away. Only one form uses FFC libraries. If I remove that form and remove the FFC classes, the project compiles fine. If I remove the form only and leave the FFC classes, I still get the error. If I add the form (after removing it and the FFC libraries), it addes all the FFC libraries to the project and the error reappears. The app seems to run OK, but the error really bugs me.

FYI - I found the problem and my compile issue is now resolved. I had my partner zip up his c:\program files\microsoft visual studio\vfp98\ffc directory and send it to me. Once I installed his version of the Foxpro Foundation Classes, my compile problems went away. Apparently there is either a slight difference between the Visual Studio and stand-alone versions of VFP 6.0 (or a bug on my VFP CD). Interestinly, I found other UT user messages (November 98) that described the exact same compile problem/behavior. So I doubt that the problem was the result of user tampering after the installation. What ever the case, it is working now and I am a happy-camper. I posted this message just in case other UT users are seeking a solution to this same problem.
