VFP COM objects simply don't work because they are not multithreaded. BIG PROBLEM!!! Yes, VFP supports remote views, SQL-Passthrough and all the other goblygook associated with client-server development, but it still does not connect directly to the MS Flagship, SQL Server. With VB you can directly edit and debug back end stored procedures. NO ODBC.
Now, I don't want to get your panties in a bunch by claiming VB is a better product, but what I will say is that MS has chosen to develop VB further than VFP as a client-server tool. Technologically, VFP lags in that arena, even though it is a better database product.
And that's all I have to say on that subject.
