I suspect you are creating multiple Excel objects. IOW, they aren't being released. If you're running NT4.0 then you can check for Excel sessions in the task manager. If you're running Win9x then you can check with CTRL-ALT-DEL.

It's possible you are closing the current workspace but not exiting Excel. Specifically what command do you use to close/exit?

Also, you can avoid creating a second session if one is already running. Read about GETOBJECT() in the help, and see if that will help you any.
