Anyway, VSS sets all the files to Read Only until you check one out. I'm wondering what the correct process is here. Should I check all the files out? Or is there a better way to handle this?

Actually, you only have to have the files checked out that need to recompile. I am using VSS and I can check out 1 form make modifications and build the EXE while everything else is checked in. You may need to check everything out this one time since you upgraded to VFP6 and everything will need to be recompiled. HTH
