The light begins to dawn- you have (had) a read events in your legacy app and a read events in your new VFP app - I don't think you can have 2 read events running at the same time. If you took the read events out of the vfp app and ran it as before it should work even though it would not work as a stand alone because it has no read events I think but then I have already shown you that my thinking on this is not clear. As long as you have no problems with memory etc using the run command I would leave well enough alone.
