George,
Thanks for the heads-up on GENPD.APP. As it turns out, I already took my original FPDOS2.5 GENPD project and updated it with the 2.6 update from the MS site. I then opened the .PJX in VFP5 and updated it to Visual, and built a new GENPD.APP.
The main program (GEN_PD.PRG, if I remember correctly) needs to be modified slightly - it documents itself, sections that need to be commented or uncommented depending on which style of driver you want to use.
My troubles have now gone away ! The same machine which was crashing VFP5 yesterday, is fine today. Reports are printing just fine with absolutely no conversion.
This machine is a little flaky - the client hasn't put a lot of effort into cleaning it up. The video driver or card changes the cursor to a large block at seemingly random intervals, and you can't run Windows Explorer more than 5 minutes or so without locking the machine solid with a "white screen" (NT 4.0, 160MB RAM).
Anyways, thanks for the help, and all's well that ends well.
Regards. Al
