>Well, here at the house (with no VBRUN???.DLLs), I used FILETOSTR() on MS Money 4.0a and there's no indication (at least in the header) that it was done with VB. Certainly not conclusive, but my gut reaction would be to say that it wasn't written in VB.
Hi George - Together with my investigation, I believe you're right. So what could it be, built up the hard way in C++?
I'm not going to say it's a perfect product though. I'm using Money98 for some design ideas on a current project, and one thing strikes you right away:
If you have several Money98 accounts, the opening "home" page has vertical scrolling, and forces you to scroll down to select an account every time you open Money. Rather than avoid scrolling, there's a huge and totally useless banner that fills up about 1/3 of the page (Argh!, an example for the Hall of Shame :)
