Bill and everyone else,

I don't know about you but these types of threads are getting really old.

Now I don't want to go off on a rant here....

VFP is alive and well and MSFT has no plans to kill it. On Tuesday I visited
MSFT and talked with Robert, Randy, Calvin and a bunch of other people. They seem to be working on VFP... I didn't see them coding VB, VC++, Visual Interdev
or for that matter the new version of Barney the Dino. The look like they are working on VFP.

As we all know the people from MSFT consulting suffer from
rectal-cranial-inversion syndrome (you figure that one out). For the longest time MSFT consulting has been a great source of rumor and innuendo.

Lets look at current events:

VFP was releases in Visual Studio 6.0

Magazines began giving VFP high marks (Software Development,MIND and others)

There seems to be a resurgence in conferences (FoxTeach, Devcon, Southern Cal Devcon)

Demand for VFP work is still high.

And other success stories....

I don't normally respond to these threads but I feel it is time to do so now as there are numerous threads going on. Some include

The Read Headed Step Child
The Lack of VFP at Tech Ed.

Well lets look at these as well. We all know that VB/VBA is a bread and butter language at MSFT. VFP is fourth at best. So what!!!!! As long as this group keeps buying VFP they are going to keep it alive. Wanna make them happy ? Begin using SQL Server with VFP. Ask them to create a VFP/SQL Server bundle. Let them know that you are using SQL Server maybe this will wake them up to saying" "Hey people are really using VFP in client server worlds maybe we should take a look at that market."

As for Tech Ed. It seems that NO ONE WENT TO THE VFP SESSIONS when we had them. So for all people whining about this you should have gone to Tech Ed and seen the VFP sessions. It's basic economics Demand creates Supply. There was no demand so now there is no supply. Heck you still have your very own VFP Devcon so quit whining....

So for the sake of this thread. Lets get off the Boo-Hoo FoxPro is dead thing and get to work. If people want to be un-productive using other tools then so be it......

That's just my opinion I could be wrong....
