Inertestingly enough, I had this problem on a straight '98 peer to peer network. No novell at all. It happened when I did an append from, or when I packed a table across the net. I am running noname P2/266's. Two byte shift, chr(0) shows up in the first field of the table for a few rows, then goes back to normal.

>Ran into this problem running Client 32 under Novell 4.11. Data was corrupted (I would say shifted) at seemingly arbitrary points in the table. However, one thing I did note was that it began at the point the record pointer was at, and only occurred because of PACKing the table. This was with FPW 2.6a. Changing over to MS Client for Netware fixed the problem. According to Novell, it has something to do with extended file handles and is fixed under Netware 5.x. Sorry, don't recall the hardware specs for the server off hand. Workstations were typical Compaq or IBM boxes.
