>>>Why have a test that no one is taking and doesn't count toward current certification. It was for a product that is 2 versions old. The VFP 6.0 exams are under development and will be ready later this year.
>>
>>I don't understand your first sentence. I would love to take a VFP test to be certified but MSFT keeps changes the rules and haven't been able to take a VFP exam since November. Finding a place that trains in it is next to impossible. I heard someone say that xBASE was a 'dirty' word because it is so hard to find good programmers. It is Catch-22. How can there be any good programmers if no one teaches the newbies to be good programmers?

>People weren't taking the VFP 3.0 exam. It was two versions old.

The explaination I heard from MSFT was that there were not enough differences between VFP3 & VP5 to warrent a new exam.

>>VFP6 is already a year old and will be a year and a half if you are right about the schedule. This is just another way of MSFT not taking VFP seriously.

>Wrong. VFP 6.0 was released in Sept. 1998... 6 months ago. VFP
IS being taken seriously. I've been in meetings with BillG, who spoke highly of VFP. The VFP exams are currently being developed...there will be 2 examns. There will also be 2 training classes, also under development.
Thanks for the info. I have passed it on to the sender of the e-mail. Now if MSFT could do some more advertising!
