And despite the protestations and other worries of others, I've got to believe that a person with half a head on their shoulders will take the "doom and gloom" talk with a grain of salt, noting the churn but asking the important questions themselves rather than taking a hike.

I also find a bit of irony in people's concerns about scaring off the newbie with this kind of talk, yet hardly any interest in what really drives the newbies away - namely poor documentation.
