Last I heard, the UT was not a democracy. Anything and everything within Michel's rulesset is OK. Frankly, I think your "Kill Thread" idea is stupid and short-sighted and wouldn't even work on technical merits.
I forget who posted the comment, "if you don't like it, don't read it" but I'd have to agree with that.
I would, however, suggest that we have a new category similar to the DevX Off Ramp newsgroup to contain wild-ass rumors, kvetching, et al.
