Never met a professional who was without angst from time to time.

While this is no excuse for any lack of common courtesy on my part, I detest new-age-political-correctness.

>>I would like to see a Kill Thread feature for the UT. When responding to garabage threads like this, users will have the option to check a Kill Thread CheckBox. Before midnight, a process would fire which would determine if the majority of users (who responded) voted to have the thread killed. If so, the thread is dead - killed forever.

>Isn't that against the constitution you people are so fond of? You know, the bit about freedom of speech?

>>For those of us who make a living providing VFP solutions, these rumors affect our careers. In the last year, every IT manager I have met with has heard these rumors and, as a direct result, I have lost thousands of dollars in jobs and contracts that I would otherwise have acquired.

>>Whatever motive (e.g. entertainment, malicious, etc.) you have in instantiating this thread, you are messing with my career and my earnings of which my family depends. This is personal, not business.

>You must learn to keep your emotions under control, personal has no place in business. Bill was reporting to the UT community something which he felt we should know about. Are you going to hold him responsible for all the negative rumours that exist about FoxPro? Don't be silly. Just because the FoxPro developers decide not to discuss or even post comments about these rumours isn't going to make them go away since they are started by people who know nothing about FoxPro - demonstratively!
>
>As I said in my earlier post, we need to know about these things so that we can effectively combat them. Ranting, raving and flaming are not going to help the situation.

>I make a living providing VFP solutions, these rumours affect my carreer. In the last year, every IT manager I have met has heard these rumours and when presented with the facts in a logical, calm and professional manner has accepted that VFP will and can do the job. As a direct result, I have gained thousands of pounds in jobs and contract.
>
>Not one of these IT managers has even heard of the Universal Thread, let alone visited the site or read the posts on any topic. Yet they had still heard the rumours and one or two of them from MS retailers.
