Red Wing brings back a few memories. In 1980 I was trying to tap into the Farm accounting market. Bought a few copies of (I assume this is the same company) your farm accounting software. Still have them! I didn't have much luck with the farm market back then.

Anyway, on the reporting issue, I've been including FoxFire with my applications for many years. It allows the customer to design their own reports/queries and use/save them for future use. The customers love it because they don't have to call/pay me every time they want a change or a new report. As far as the Report Writer that comes with FP/VFP is concerned, I don't ever remember having to tell a customer that I couldn't develope a report that they wanted, using it.

Video drivers - If/when this becomes a problem, I tell the customer to install the generic driver and that has 'fixed' the few that I've seen.

Printer drivers - This has not been an issue because I have the user install HP II/III drivers (in addition to their others, assuming they're using a Laser Jet) and to print to the HP II/III port when using my program(s). I design using the same drivers and so far, have not had any problems.

SBT has already been mentioned as using VFP. There are a number of other good sized accounting software companies using VFP. Two of them are the New England Municipal Resource Center (NEMRC) specializing in Governmental Fund Accounting, and Champion Business Systems in Englewood, CO. both switched to VFP a couple years ago. I haven't kept up to date on them, but I recall they were full featured, powerful packages and pretty successful in their respective markets.

>What has been your experience with problems with video drivers and printer drivers. I have heard several comments about problems in this area and I don't have much if any control over what my customers decide to use for hardware.
