I highly recommend AppDev training. I took it 2 years ago & it was definetly an excellent learning experience. As for the future of VFP, don't worry about it. There are half a million FoxPro developers in the world (those are the estimates I've read about anyway) & it's doubtful Microsoft is going to abandon them. Anxiety about FoxPro's future started 3 or 4 years ago but has since diminshed substantially.

>>The future of VFP is quite secure. Don't listen to the rumors. VFP sounds perfect for your needs and I highly reccommend it. There are also a couple of accounting apps written in VFP that may or may not be of use to you. (They include source code) One is SBT; I forgot the other.

>>In addition to the fact that VFP blows VB away for database programming, with VFP you'll have a very supportive community if you ever need help.

>Thanks for the input. I certainly agree with the "supportive community" statement based on what I have seen here.

>What about education. Do you have any suggestions for VFP classes. I either have to find classes in Minnesota or train only 1 or 2 people via formal classes and do the rest out of books.
