>I maintain high-volume (some tables > 1 million recs) VFP3.0 system running on Win NT network. Index tags get corrupted too often to be true. System runs long batch file processes and gets "Error Reading Drive ..." errors and data, I guess, get corrupted at this point. I will appreciate any ideas how to work around.

Edward,

You might want to invest in some extra memory for the machine that does the reindex process. I've found that if you have more memory than the size of the database, the reindexing is MUCH faster. I have 128MB on my 'reindexing' workstation so that I can get up and running a quickly as possible. What you'll ususally find is that the first index tag takes a while (the .DBF is being read), but subsequent tags are extremely fast.
