I have FPW 2.6 and VFP 5.0 data files that will have the data for some rows replaced by vertical bar ASCII characters. The bars fill each field all the way across the row. The .cdx will be trashed and sometimes the data comes back after a "delete tag all" and "copy to for not deleted" to another file and then rebuilding the indexes. Sometimes I cannot get rid of these bad rows even after all that, they just stay in the file completely unaffected by PACK or DELETE.

I have had other developers tell me that Microsoft told them it was due to running the Novell client instead of the Microsoft client. Once they nuked the Novell client, everything was fine.

I have to document this to my client, and I can't tell them this without causing a big uproar, so I have to be right on this one. Can anyone else verify the position on this ???? Also, is this the case for any other tables created from other programs ????
