It doesn't sound to me like the RECID = GNRECID is the problem. When I've seen it, the msg is because I have tried to set a relation from one table into another when I already have the reverse relation set. And it could be that the relations are a generation or more removed.
When you preview the report from the report designer..you don't have a problem? Does the report use the default data session? Perhaps it should use a private datasession?
