Thanks, I am taking a little preformance hit with the remote views but the client would prefer to keep their options open for changing the backend. I don't see this system ever growing large enough for that to be a consideration but the apparant ease of using views has been a strong consideration. Again, thanks for the input, being new to vfp your response gives me some confidence that I haven't started myself down a deadend on this design. Jeff
