>I'm sure that you do have to have any files checked out to compile. The changes are being made to the .fxp (and similar) files not to the .prg (which is what is checked in). I always have "recompile all files" checked on when I build and don't get any errors. What does cause the original error (cannot update cursor) for me is moving my files from my desktop to laptop when they were not all checked out; then many come over as read-only and that jumps up to bite you. Is that perhaps what happened here?
If the VFP project file is registered with VSS then you do not need to have any of the files checked out. Although they are all read only, any recompiled files will be updated (no changes in source code).
This is only true if the files are managed by a project that is registered with VSS.
