I've been using the DataTree class for the TreeView control. It's here in the UT Files (yellow file cabinet). It uses a DBF file to drive the contents of the TreeView and is pretty easy to set up if you copy the sample files (they use TasTrade).

Today I added an item to every node at the third level down which let the user add a new record and open a form to edit it. Took less than 2 minutes and no recompiling.
