I don't believe they will discontinue it, it will just evolve. Just like MSDos Basic evolved into VB, xBase evolved into VFP\Visual dBase, Sybase evolved into MS SQL Server (hehe), etc.

Gene,
I too have been programming since the 70's and if I never see COBOL again it would be too soon, merging VFP with VB wouldn't be feasible ( can you imagine the size of the exe for one ) VB has its strengths, VFP has its strengths etc... I think we've been here before
