Fred - does the "old" version work setting the MONTH/DAY/YEAR props you specifiy? Also, FYI - I found that it is not necessary to specify the .object ref when setting it this way, although I probably will just to be safe for whatever MS comes up with next. Any idea why they got away from letting you set the .object.value property directly.

me by surprise, too. But now I've coded our use of the calendar object to work with EITHER control.
