>>I use a VFP5a application to gather data from our native Fox tables, and place it into SQL tables for display through a Web application. I loop through the Fox tables, 50,000 at a time, write to a SDF file, BCP them into a SQL temp table, and then ISQL these into the SQL production table using an INSERT INTO/SELECT FROM statement. One Fox table holds 3.1 million rows/records. The application loops through these until all records have written out. The process works without a hitch, and I can update all of the tables in a few hours. Problem: The transaction log is being used up. At the end of the application, it has used approximately 1 gig of space of a 2 gig log file. Truncating the log does not gain back the space. It has to be dumped in order to restore it. It seems as if the server is not recognizing that the transactions have ended. Any insight into this would be appreciated.
