My wife is from Atlanta. My best friend (whose wife is from Chatanooga) and I always joke about how the South thinks the Civil War is still going on. Our wives always talk about how the South is very modern and we're just biased. The first time I went to Atlanta and met my wife's parents (she wasn't my wife then) the first thing her mother did was take us to the cylclorama. This is a round building that houses a 360 degree painting and diorama of the battle of Atlanta. This thing has to be seen to be believed. The diorama is basically a continuation of the paintings. Soldiers appear to be going into or out of the painting. You sit in seats that revolve as a recorded narrator talks about the valiant Confederate soldiers. My wife hasn't lived it down yet.

>ROFLMAO....true story: My grandmother was in a school choir back in the 30's not allowed to practice "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" at home.

>>Hey man, hang on to that money. Most people here in Tennessee think that the Civil War is just in an extended half-time.
