>Yes, that's basically what I'm wanting to do. I'm wanting the middle tier (COM server) to handle the database operations and business logic for the entire application (multiple forms). If I don't use MTS for this would building an out-of-process server work with this type of application? Or maybe I should simply use the 'ol system of looking for an added record for instructions on a timer and pass references back in another table? I've used this for years but I'd like to see how the remote OLE server would handle this without all of the kludges.

If you want something to happen when you add records, why not put something in the DBC to handle this. Maybe a complete description of what you want to do will help find the best solution to your problem.
