Can anyone please help with this problem...

I have set up a regular index on a date field...
The problem is VFP 6.00 sorts the field incorrectly.
My settings are as follows :
i) set date british
ii) set century on

The index does not sort the date correctly, it mixes the 1998
and 1999 dates..

Any solutions?
