>>>first of all i shud thank u from the bottom of my heart cos after reading ur initial replies, i took the backup of my important data files from old drive on network hard disk and was planning to take backup of newer drive n format and reload everything...
>>>
>>>just after that this problem came... now i'll remove the old hard disk, install a newer one & reinstall everything...
>>>
>>>still I have not taken the backup from 4.3 gb, but now I’m not able to go in the network…

>>Yes; you'll need the real mode NDIS drivers for your NIC and the DOS client (you may be able to pull the files form your NT Server.) Your best bet would be to do a reinstall of Win98 to the new drive, not worrying about the 4.3GB drive and leaving it in place as a slave. Once Win98 is up and running you should be able to copy stuff from the two partitions on the old drive (if you've set up the new drive as a single partition, the old drive partitions should be C: and D: respectively) and you can connect to the network there. if you've already pulled the 4.3GB drive and mounted it on another system, wait until the new Win98 install is up on the net, share the drive from the other station, and copy to your heart's content.

The NDIS drivers should be on the disk from the NIC mnufacturer. If you've fully installed NT Server (I'm looking at this from my own NT Server box now) you can get the DOS client from Start Menu/Administrative Tools (Common)/Network Client Administrator, which should give you a dialog box allowing you to create a Network Installation Startup Disk or Installation Disk Set. if you have SBS (Small Business Server) instlaled, there's an HTML-based Wizard that can help you when adding a computer to the network.

>here in emirates its already night and friday is holiday.. I already called my hardware supplier and new hard disk, can only get on saturday...

One advantage to being here - I can run down to my local office supply store or CompUSA and pick it up.

>i'll be again troubling you on saturday...(sorry for that...)

No problem if I'm around!
